Bite Marks: Bedbug bites often appear as small, red, itchy welts on your skin. They typically occur in a line or cluster and can be mistaken for mosquito bites.
Blood Stains: Check your sheets, pillowcases, and pajamas for small blood stains. These can occur when you accidentally crush a bedbug after a feeding.
Dark Spots: Look for tiny dark spots (approximately the size of a pinhead) on your bedding or mattress. These are bedbug feces and can smear when wiped.
Shells or Exoskeletons: As bedbugs grow, they shed their exoskeletons. You might find these shed skins in areas where bedbugs are hiding.
Musty Odor: A strong, unpleasant odor resembling that of rotting raspberries can indicate a larger infestation.
Live Bedbugs: You may be able to spot bedbugs themselves, especially in the seams of your mattress, cracks in furniture, behind baseboards, or in other hidden areas.
Behavior Changes: If you notice increased anxiety during the night, difficulty sleeping, or the distress of itchy, irritated skin, it could signal bedbug presence.
